Hi, I’m Sarah.

I’m a parent of two, an early childhood educator with over a decade of experience, and a certified Mindful Parenting teacher. I’m also a cancer survivor, the reluctant owner of an anxiety disorder, and someone who has struggled with this deeply important, rewarding, arduous, heartbreaking, joyous job of raising children.

When I became a parent…

I couldn’t get my heart to accept what I knew intellectually: parenting is hard, children hurt, you cannot control their behavior or emotions, or how the world will respond to them. Instead, I tried to fix and manage them. I judged myself harshly, but didn’t know what else to do. I was caught in a cycle of yelling and guilt, eroding my most precious relationships.

Hoping to do better…

I dove into the research, reading parenting books, listening to podcasts, and following experts. While the ideas resonated and made sense intellectually, I still wasn’t able to make sustainable, real life changes.

Diving a Mindful Parenting course with Hunter Clarke-Fields, author of Raising Good Humans and creator of the Mindful Parenting method, was what finally allowed me to make positive changes in myself and my relationships with my children.

The time, the space, and the accountability the course provides - that is what truly made a difference in my life.

I was so inspired by the material that I became certified as a Mindful Parenting teacher. I truly love sharing this work with other parents
